Starting counselling can feel like a big step. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and comfortable sharing your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another, talk about what has brought you to counselling, and identify what you hope to achieve. From there, we will work together to develop a plan that reflects your unique needs, strengths, and priorities. I believe counselling is most effective when it is collaborative, practical, and tailored to you.
As a Registered Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience, I provide counselling to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My professional experience includes work in community agencies, schools, healthcare settings, and outpatient addiction treatment, giving me a broad understanding of the different challenges people may face throughout their lives.
My approach is compassionate, client-centred, and informed by evidence-based practices. Depending on your needs and goals, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed practices. Together, we can work toward developing effective coping strategies, strengthening self-awareness, navigating challenges, and creating meaningful change.
I support clients experiencing a wide range of concerns, including (but not limited to):
- Anxiety, stress, and depression
- Addiction and substance use
- Trauma and PTSD
- Processing grief
- Anger Management
- Autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities
- Traumatic brain injury
- Building self- esteem and confidence
- Emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Parenting challenges
- Resolving relationship and family conflicts
- Life transitions and significant change
I hold a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.), Honours Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.), Child and Youth Work (CYW) diploma, and Early Childhood Education (R.E.C.E.) diploma. My diverse education and professional background allow me to consider each client within the context of their individual experiences, relationships, strengths, and goals.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Counselling is a process of meeting you where you are, understanding what you are experiencing, and taking meaningful steps toward the changes you want to make. You do not have to navigate those steps alone. Your Thoughts Matter. Your Story Matters. You Matter.
